[ARCHIVED] Bike the Boro and Big Event set for 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sat., Aug. 31

Bike the Boro, Springboro’s celebration of all things biking, takes place Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Springboro’s North Park, 195 Tamarack Trail. Bike the Boro includes three bike rides on the streets of Springboro followed by an expo where local bike shops, bicycle education and advocacy organizations, health and wellness organizations, public safety agencies, and others will be on hand. Bike the Boro and The Big Event take place rain or shine. All events are free and open to all.

All three bike rides start and end at North Park. The 2-mile ride is perfect for young children and stays close to the neighborhood near North Park. The 10- and 16-mile rides offer a hilly challenge on City streets. The 16-mile ride passes through 75 percent of the City’s neighborhoods. The 10- and 16-mile rides include rest stops and support and follow riders.

The Big Event runs until 2:00 p.m. The festival includes free helmet fittings courtesy of the City of Springboro and Dayton Children’s Medical Center, participation by Bicycle Revival, a mobile bike shop based in Springfield, and new for 2019 Middletown’s Spoken Bicycles. Springboro’s own DK Bicycles and Airborne Bicycles will be on hand as well as Mike’s Bike Park from Dayton, one of two indoor bicycle parks in the state. Bicycles for All will be in attendance to accept your used bicycle. Other events include a safety town, Clearcreek Fire District apparatus, and other public safety agencies including the Warren County Sheriff’s office and Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Springboro Police Department’s bike patrol, music, food and more. Look for a climbing wall, face painting, bounce houses, and a scheduled visit by CareFlight’s helicopter (subject to availability). In addition to drawings for DK/Airborne bicycles and other prizes from vendors at the event. Bicycle Parking will be provided by Speedy Feet.
