The City of Springboro is accepting applications for its 2018 Historic Preservation Grant program through Monday, June 4th at 12:00 p.m. at the Planning Department in the Springboro City Building, 320 West Central Avenue. The grant program is part of the City’s recognition of Preservation Month in May, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation that recognizes the country's diverse and irreplaceable heritage.
The Historic Preservation Grant Program provides financial assistance for the preservation of historic buildings in the Old Springboro Historic Preservation District as well as the five stand-along landmarks around the community. For 2018 a total of $25,000.00 will be available through the program. The grant program offers up to $5,000.00 in reimbursement to eligible projects and properties. Each dollar of private investment will be matched by the City’s grant on a 1:1 basis through the program on a reimbursement basis. Examples of projects funded during the 2017 grant cycle include roof replacement, roof repairs, tuck pointing, door repairs and restorations, porch flooring replacement, and more.
