[ARCHIVED] Planning Commission to review Master Plan

The Springboro Planning Commission will review the Springboro Master Plan at their Wednesday, January 19, 2022 meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers in the City Building, 320 W. Central Ave. (SR 73). The Master Plan will be used by City Council, Planning Commission and City staff to make long-range development and redevelopment decisions. The plan would replace the current plan that was adopted in 2009. A copy of the December 20, 2021 draft of the plan may be found at the project website here.

Work on the Springboro Master Plan has been underway since Summer 2020. A Steering Committee was created to guide the plan’s development in September 2020 and began meeting in October 2020. The City secured the services of a consulting team led by MKSK to assist in the plan’s development. Work on the plan continued through the pandemic, with the Steering Committee meeting in person and virtually, through two rounds of open houses and with the input from surveys. At its meeting on December 14, 2020 the Steering Committee approved a motion to recommend that the City adopt the plan with a number of revisions recommended based on feedback from public comments received at an open house held on December 7 as well as comments posted to the project website.

The meeting on January 19 will include presentations by City staff and the consulting team from MKSK on the process used to complete the Springboro Master Plan and its recommendations. Following any action by Planning Commission, the plan will appear on a City Council agenda for discussion and adoption.

The public may comment on the plan by attending the meeting in person or sending comments in writing to the Planning Commission Secretary Ann Burns by email to ann.burns@cityofspringboro.com by Tuesday, January 18, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. All comments received by that time will be forwarded to members of Planning Commission. For questions about the plan contact Dan Boron, Planner, at (937)748-6183.
