[ARCHIVED] Springboro announces summer event plans, Some concerts cancelled, July 4th fireworks show set

North Park Amphitheater

The City of Springboro is postponing, cancelling and rescheduling summer events due to the continued impact of COVID-19. Following the direction provided by the Governor’s Office regarding social distancing and gatherings of no more than ten people, the City has reviewed the summer activities lineup.

Cancelled/Postponed

The first three bands scheduled for the summer series on June 26, July 3 and July 7 are cancelled. Concerts have been scheduled every Tuesday and Friday evening through July 31. We’ll have a new update on June 10.

We know you love the Concerts in the Park—we do, too! That’s why we are cancelling on a week-by-week basis, giving each band a 30-day notice, per our contract agreement. Once we are given the go-ahead by the State, we’ll start the series and open the amphitheater in a way that is focused on the health and safety of our performers, guests and staff.

Fireworks!

We are pleased to announce that we will offer our annual fireworks display on July 4 at Springboro High School. Look for more details in the coming weeks.

New Dates

We’re looking forward to opening Kacie Jane Park. Not only is it a great place to cool off, Phase 2—ready to open soon-- features two age-appropriate playgrounds and an interactive musical play area. We’ll open the splash pad and playgrounds as soon as the governor permits.

Our third annual Boro BBQ Fest has been rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 3 at North Park, and we’re looking for new dates for Touch a Truck and Doggie Days.

Parks remain open

In the meantime, our parks are open with walking paths and bikeways, but the playgrounds remain closed unfortunately per the Governor’s directives. Park restrooms will open June 1 and will be sanitized daily. For more information on trails and cycling in Springboro, visit www.ci.springboro.oh.us.

Please continue to stay safe, healthy and active during this unprecedented and difficult time. We’ll continue to provide updates regarding our concerts and other special events as information becomes available.
