[ARCHIVED] City to provide dumpsters for recycling, yard waste and bulk-items

City to provide dumpsters for recycling, yard waste and bulk-items

Due to COVID-19, the City’s trash hauler, Waste Management, recently made the decision to pick up only those recyclable items placed in a container and also suspended yard waste and bulk-item pickups. The City of Springboro hopes to ease the load for residents by providing a temporary drop-off site for yard waste, bulk-items and loose recyclables. Beginning Friday, April 10, three dumpsters will be available in the City Building parking lot at 320 W. Central Avenue. This free service will continue until Friday, April 30, when the City’s new hauler, Rumpke, will begin trash hauling, recycling and yard waste services for residents.

Providing the dumpsters to residents will help bridge the transition to the new hauler, and residents are encouraged to bring yard waste, recyclables and bulk-items as often as needed. ALL ITEMS MUST BE PLACED INSIDE THE DUMPSTERS and the area will be monitored.

Waste Management will continue Tuesday trash collection and every-other-week recycling services through Tuesday, April 28. Rumpke will begin servicing Springboro residents on Thursday, April 30. Residents were notified by mail of their new pickup day (Thursday or Friday) along with a recycling calendar.
