The Planning Department is responsible for guiding the orderly growth and development of the City of Springboro. In part, the department is responsible for proposed zoning ordinances and amendments and regulations concerning the subdivision of land.
The City is a Certified Local Government (CLG) in cooperation with the National Park Service and Ohio History Connection. The City manages a 50-acre locally- and federally-designated historic district with over 90 contributing structures, some associated with conductors on the Underground Railroad. Five stand-alone landmarks outside the historic district are also protected including the City-owned Null Log Home (circa 1798).
