Strategic Master Plan
Traffic & Transportation
GOAL: Establish an integrated multi-modal transportation system allowing for safe and efficient movement from homes to places of work, education, shopping and recreation, including pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
ACTION: Develop a master traffic plan consistent with the goals of the Strategic Vision and Strategic Plan.
To accomplish this action:
- Have City Council set up a committee of concerned citizens for a Traffic and Transportation committee.
- Seek advice and counsel from appropriate state agencies.
- Request For Proposal (RFP) to hire appropriate planning and consulting firm. (This will coordinate with the master land use plan.)
- Have consulting firm produce a detailed Traffic and Transportation plan for Traffic and Transportation committee review and approval.
ACTION: Achieve consensus on Traffic and Transportation Plan.
To accomplish this action:
- Present plan for Council's approval.
- Publish plan in City newsletter.
ACTION: Implement the Traffic and Transportation Plan.
To accomplish this action:
- Integrate into the master land use plan.
- Mandated annual review by the Traffic and Transportation committee.
